This is the home of occassional rantings of an American expat who has moved to the United Kingdom.
"It may be that the gulfs will wash us down; It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And though we are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are made weak by time and fate, but strong in will; To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
lyrics of Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Happy Birthday, Emily
This week, my niece Emily [who looks just like her dad] will turn 11. She is an avid soccer player, loves Webkins and stuffed animals, penguins, her i-Pod, and has a place for everything.
Below, I've included a video of her on her visit to the UK where she told me about a pig with a birthmark.
